Keeping Your Followers Informed and Engaged

Utilize your channel to publish various types of content, including:

1. Text

2. Images

3. Videos

4. Stickers

5. Links

While some aspects may resemble WhatsApp chats, channel updates function as one-way broadcasts rather than interactive conversations. Followers cannot directly respond to updates or message channel administrators. Instead, they can express their interest in a channel's content by adding emoji reactions to updates or participating in polls.

Updates originate from your channel, which is situated in a distinct section of the app, separate from chats and calls. Your WhatsApp profile name, picture, and phone number remain hidden from your followers.

It is your responsibility to maintain the content on your channel in a safe, relevant, and age-appropriate manner for your followers.

How You Can Attract New Followers?

There are different ways for people to discover your channel:

1. External Link: You can share a link to your channel on other websites or apps. This allows your channel and its updates to be visible within WhatsApp.

2. In-App Sharing: Your followers have the option to share channels they enjoy with their WhatsApp contacts.

3. App Browsing: WhatsApp users can look for channels or stumble upon them by exploring the app's directory.

Things To Keep Your Followers Engaged

To keep your followers interested, when crafting updates:

1. Keeping written updates brief, concise, and centered on a specific subject.

2. Offering useful information, such as tips, time-saving tricks, or the latest how-to guides.

3. Sharing information that is current and up-to-date.

Measuring Engagement

You can access information about your channel's performance, such as:

1. The total count of people following your channel. You can also check who among them are your contacts by reviewing the list of channel followers.

2. Track how many times your channel updates have been viewed.

3. Observe the quantity and types of emoji reactions your updates receive.

Things To Keep In Mind

As of now, each channel can only have one admin, and that admin is linked to the phone number used to create the channel.

You currently can't make changes to updates that have already been shared in a channel.

WhatsApp Channels is being introduced gradually and is available in only a select number of countries. Channel creation is not yet accessible to everyone. If you are interested, you can join a waitlist to be notified when WhatsApp Channels becomes available to you.
